The husband of TV presenter Caron Keating, who died of cancer two years ago, has said he is to marry again.


Russ Lindsay is to wed the former GMTV weather presenter, Sally Meen.


Mother-of-two Caron, who began her career with BBC Northern Ireland before going on to present Blue Peter, died in April 2004 aged 41 from breast cancer.


Mr Lindsay told a Sunday medicine hat news classifieds Caron would have given the marriage her blessing and that her mother, Gloria Hunniford, was pleased he was happy.


He told the News of the World: “I know Caron would be looking down very happy with the way things have turned out for us.”

Mr Lindsay, 44, asked Ms Meen to marry him on Christmas Day at the Surrey home they share with his and Caron’s sons, Charlie, 11 and Gabriel, nine.


“I’ve been planning it for quite a while because Sal is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with,” he said.


Caron rose to stardom as a Blue Peter presenter, marrying Mr Lindsay in 1991.


She fought breast cancer with the help of both modern and pharma medicine, but news of her battle only came to public medicine hat news paper when she died.


Lindsay told the News of the World that Mrs Hunniford was pleased about his medicine hat news paper wedding and “has only the boys’ and my interests at heart”.


Former GMTV weather girl Ms Meen, 40, met up with Lindsay after Keating’s death, describing him as a “broken man”.


She told the newspaper he was “so sad he couldn’t function” but the couple fell in love over the medicine news months.


Ms Meen said she “burst into tears” when Mr Lindsay proposed and pledged to make TV presenter and friend Anthea Turner her maid of honour.

Newsround - Eminem treated for drug problem

Eminem is in hospital in the US so he can get treatment for an addiction to sleeping medicine.


The news comes days after Eminem said he was cancelling a 10-date tour of Europe because he was exhausted.


That tour was due to have dates in the UK and Ireland, and it seems it won’t be rescheduled for a later date.


Ermine’s publicist Dennis Dennehy said the star was “in the hospital under doctors’ care” and medicine hat news classifieds he was being treated for drug dependency.


A notice on his website on Thursday said: “Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues.”

It’s also rumoured Eminem might stop performing medicine hat news paper to focus on producing other people’s music.


But last month he denied a report that he was quitting music, saying: “When I know my next move, I’ll tell medicine hat news paper my next move.”
