Burton en Venecia

Tim Burton acaba de recibir el León de Oro a la trayectoria en Venecia. Que este festival se está poniendo raro, ya nos dimos cuenta. Pero que le dé el superpremio a un yanqui de menos de 50 años que hizo no más de 15 pelÃculas y algunos cortos, y ninguno de todos esos productos aportó una pizca al cine, salvo en lo que se refiere a técnicas de animación, eso pasa a ser grave.
Yo no digo que Burton sea un mal director. Al contrario, me parece un excelente director. El problema es que es un tipo que hace entretenimiento, no hace nada parecido al arte. No cambió el cine, como modo de expresión, en ningún sentido. Sus historias son las-mismas-historias-de-siempre con las mismas moralejas; sus personajes, los mismos de siempre pero con sus excentricidades exteriorizadas (son pálidos, tienen ojeras y no ocultan sus transtornos depresivos). Tim Burton es una mero reproductor de fórmulas.
