A veces uno tiene que dejar de buscar noticias en Google para regocijarse en la estupidez ajena y hacerle un bien a la humanidad.
Es decir, recomendar una película genial.
The War Game, de Peter Walkins, irreverente director inglés, es un film que desbarranca todas las clasificaciones de género posible. Falso documental que maneja información 100% cierta, film de ciencia ficción anclado más en el pasado que en el futuro, The War Game responde a un imaginario apocalíptico muy a lo guerra fría, a la bomba atómica que destruirá el mundo, al terror de la guerra química.
El falso documental (producido por la BBC, que inmediatamente se arrepintió de haberle dado plata a ese irrespetuoso) está genialmente planteado como una crónica de un hipotético ataque químico a una ciudad inglesa, con las hipotéticas consecuencias que el caso tendría. Lo mejor es que el terror que produce el film frente a la posibilidad real de semejante ataque está anclado en información del pasado, sobre hechos que efectivamente ocurrieron en distintas partes del mundo. Eso sí, la aclaración de que eso pasó te la hace después, cuando ya te agarró miedito.
Y el efecto es genial.
